Founded by veteran e-commerce entrepreneur Marc Lore, Wonder is slowly building a massive portfolio of restaurants and delivery companies.

Food delivery start-up Wonder slashed 175 jobs - or 7% of its workforce - this week to invest in robotics and automation, the company said.

Wonder wants to turn its robotic kitchens into AI-powered "restaurant factories," letting anyone spin up a virtual food brand with a prompt.

All that appears to be left is final approval by the NBA's board of governors, which is the last step before any sale of a team can be completed.

"I've already started experimenting myself to see what [relying on an algorithm to select meals] is like," Marc Lore revealed.
